A customer in Murray, UT was looking to upgrade the R-value in their garage. This specific customer was looking to keep it warmer in the garage due to water pipes being exposed. They also had a extremely old garage opener they wanted replaced. After providing and discussing several options the customer had decided on Northwest Therma Tech with a R-9 Value steel back insulated and a Liftmaster 8355 Belt Drive with two remotes and a keypad.

The combination between an insulated steel back and a Liftmaster Belt drive is hard to beat. The customer couldn't be happier. Though they can't decide if they enjoy the fact they can't hear the door open and close, or the WIFI connection through their smart phone.

We all have that part of our job that we dread the most. For some it's public speaking, paperwork, computers. Mine is heights. In this picture I was at the very top of my ladder and still couldn't reach the opener. Luckily, we were able to find away for me to reach the opener and make the necessary adjustments.

Garage Opener Service in Draper, UT

I was called out to a customer in Draper, UT for a full service and tune up on his garages. I provided the usual full inspection of both his garage door and opener and noticed several little problems that could be headaches in the future.

One of those issues was how the sensors were installed. Typically installers will twist the wires together and wrap them in electrical tape, even then it could create condensation or the wire will become brittle and fall off losing connection. When a sensor isn't able to function properly it will not close. This typically happens when you are in a rush to be at that important meeting, picking up the in-laws from the airport, kids graduation, or date night with the wife. 

During your bi-annual inspection of your garage door and opener be sure to check the sensor connection. If they are installed incorrectly connect them with gel connectors to ensure the connection is properly connected and protected from the elements. I would be happy to help you.

A hanging garage door cable is nothing to mess with. It may seem innocent enough though there's a lot of stored energy in them as well as the hinge the cable's are attached too. I've heard of horror stories of the damaged and injury they have caused. Cutting the cable's will only cost you in end. This is one repair I wouldn't recommend repairing.
